Buenas a todos. Hey Everyone!
Wow, I am not sure where the week went, or my spelling. Haha it seems
like I was writing home yesterday. This week has been tough, but
really good. We had some struggles this week, but through the
struggles have been have been doing anything that we can to be busy
and to do what we can for the Lord. Our activities haven't been
working out to well, but I think the Lord has blessed us for trying,
and we have been finding more people to teach. The Red Cross had
enough food, and no one came to English class, but we had a good time
at fútbol with the guys and we are still really excited.
Our investigators have been good this week and we love getting to
teach them. I'm not sure which ones I wrote about last week, but I'll
start with Manuel first. Manuel has been super awesome his week. We
were able to meet with him Tuesday and he has been starting to have
doubts because he wanted to know why God would tell us to not do one
thing in the Bible, and then it's ok, or not ok later. So I actually
learned when we explained to him, that God can change his commandments
according to the needs of his people. The important thing is that we
are following his prophets he has sent to guide us. Then, he came to
the District Conference with us Sunday and we are really excited for
him.
Then, there is Miguel, who is an older guy in about his sixties, who
is rock solid. We pretty much just guide him along and help him find
these things for himself. The only problem is that his wife is still
really against religion, and he has to read when she is asleep, and is
scared to progress because of her. He said she is "spiritually dead"
but we were able to promise him that if he has faith, Heaven Father
will help him to find a way.
We met with Antonio and had a great lesson, but he still won't keep
our commitments, and doesn't have the desire to learn of these things
for himself. It was really hard because you learn to love these people
you teach, but we are giving him a break for now. We still haven't
been able to meet with Lina, but we will keep trying. And yesterday we
were able to meet with José, from Venezuela! I love Venezuelans. We
stopped by to ask him a question and were able to teach his whole
family. They are seriously the nicest people ever. They don't know
much about the scriptures, but the are so humble, and really want to
follow Christ. I know that we are here to follow Christ, and that he
really is the perfect example for us. And if we follow him through our
struggles and our difficulties we will be blessed.
I hope you all have an awesome week!
