Sorry, I can't write a long letter this week. We are heading done to
Vigo for a zone Conference today and so I don't have very long to
write, but I'll see if I can send you lots of pictures.
This last week has been good and bad. We lost our investigator Lina
after all this time, and Miguel too. They were both really hard for us
but we will keep praying for them, and we will go forward with faith
that Heavenly Father will help us find a way if it is his will. Losing
Miguel was super hard. He is the one whose wife hates religion and
forbids him from reading the scriptures or pursuing religion. He
always just wanted to meet us in a cafe or somewhere, and he would
read the Book of Mormon every night when his wife would go to sleep to
know if it was true. Then, a couple days ago he called us and told us
he couldn't meet with us anymore. His wife saw him reading the Book of
Mormon and I'm not sure what happened, but he told us that he read and
prayed about these things and he that he Knows these things are true.
He said that he could feel something different when he met with us,
but that he doesn't want to hurt his family. So it was cool to be able
to bear testimony to him that this gospel is FOR families.
But the rest of the week has been really good. We are having a lot of
fun serving the Lord And it is crazy how happy you can be when you
really learn to stop thinking about yourself, and think about others.
It was something that took me a long time to figure out, and I am
still learning how to do it. I love these amazing people here and this
gospel has been changing my life.
Jajajaja a funny story from the week, we tried to teach our 80 year old
Ward mission leader to take a selfie, and after about 10 min, and 45
pictures later he almost got it. He kept pushing the camera Jajaja
then, the branch President went to show him how to do it, and after a
couple more minutes he almost got it too. We have some awesome
leaders. They are really a blessing to this area, and to us.
It was a great week!
I hope all is well and you have an awesome week!
Con CariƱo,
Chandler
