The week had been going by SUPER slow. None of our investigators could
meet with us, or we just couldn't get a hold of them. We aren't
supposed to plan contacting as something to do, so It is was really
hard for me because it forced us to really think of activities we
could do to find people, and then we could just contact on the way.
Things were going really slow, and then we just sat down and called
EVERYONE. Less Actives, Investigators, Almost investigators, everyone.
We did everything we could, and then I remember really getting down on
my knees and asking Heavenly Father to help us find people to teach,
and things to do. Then, the next morning we were on the same train as
Manuel, (one of our investigators), Hector saw us walking down the
road and pulled over in front of us to talk to us (another
investigator), we found an awesome kid from Ecuador we might be able
to teach, and right after we saw David, (a third investigator) whom we
have been trying to meet with. And this all happened on the way to
District meeting and back. And the rest of the day followed suite and
after that we have been able to work hard and find people to teach.
The lesson I have learned from this, is that we have to do all that we
can, and then pray to God in faith, and I know he will help us out.
The rest of the week went by really well and things really picked back
up and got moving forward!
Something President Benson said that I love is that "There must be
labor, incessant and constant, if there is to be a harvest. And so
there was plowing in the fall and plowing in the spring--the sweaty
work of walking in a furrow all day long behind a team of strong
horses." Sometimes we are just in different stages of the work. Either
the planting, or the harvesting, but we just have to give it our all
for the spiritual harvest.
I have been really studying the words of the prophets is week, and I
have gained such a testimony of Prophets. I know that they are the
servants of the Lord.
"Although we are left to find and follow that path which will lead us
back to our Father in Heaven, He did not send us here without
direction and guidance." -President Monson
Then, today we spent our P-day out in Ogrove and it was really cool!
They have some cool beaches there, and we saw an aquarium there with a
lot of cool fish and some sharks and stuff! I'll try and send some
pictures out. Great week! Love you all!
I hope you all have a great week!
-Elder Chandler
